Privacy Policy
This page explains what information North Star Business Method collects from you, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language because you should be able to read it without a lawyer. If anything here is unclear or you have a question about your data, write to hello@northstarbusinessmethod.com and Mali will answer.
Who we are
North Star Business Method is operated by Mali Richlen. Throughout this policy, “we” and “us” refer to North Star Business Method. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
We collect three categories of information:
- Information you give us directly. Your name, email address, phone number (if you choose to provide one), payment information (handled by Stripe, never stored by us), and anything you write in an email or a form on the site.
- Information collected automatically when you visit. Your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and time of visit. This is standard web traffic data used to understand site performance.
- Information from advertising tools. When you visit a page on this site, the Meta Pixel records the visit. If you have entered your email or phone number in one of our forms, the Pixel may send a hashed (cryptographically scrambled, one-way) version of that information to Meta to help measure and improve our advertising.
How we collect it
We collect data through three mechanisms:
- Forms. When you sign up for the newsletter, request a free guide, or enroll in a program, the data you submit is sent to our email service, our payment processor, or both.
- Cookies. Small text files stored in your browser. Some are required for the site to function. Others help us understand how the site is used and how advertising performs.
- Pixels. Invisible tracking codes that record visits and events. We use the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement and audience matching.
Why we collect it
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To deliver the program, guide, or material you have signed up for
- To send you the emails you have agreed to receive
- To process your payment if you enroll in a program
- To answer questions you write to us
- To operate, measure, and improve our advertising
- To maintain the security and integrity of the site
Who we share it with
We share data with the following service providers, only as required to operate the business. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone other than these providers and as required by law.
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit). Stores your email address and runs our email list. kit.com/privacy
- Stripe. Processes payments when you enroll. We never see or store your full credit card number. stripe.com/privacy
- Resend. Delivers transactional emails such as account-related notifications and password sign-in links. resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Netlify. Hosts the website and handles traffic. netlify.com/privacy
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Receives data from the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement, including hashed user data for audience matching. facebook.com/privacy/policy
- Google. Provides the fonts used on the site. The Google Fonts service logs your IP address for delivery. policies.google.com/privacy
Cookies and tracking
This site uses cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and advertising. You can disable cookies through your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the site may not work as designed.
Your rights and choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access. You may ask what data we hold about you.
- Correction. You may ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate.
- Deletion. You may ask us to delete your data. We will do so unless we are required to retain it for legal reasons such as tax records.
- Unsubscribe. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and you will be removed from the list.
- Opt out of advertising tracking. You can opt out of Meta’s advertising through Meta’s own settings, or by using browser extensions that block tracking pixels.
To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@northstarbusinessmethod.com. We respond within 30 days.
Data security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your data. The site is served over HTTPS. Payment processing happens entirely on Stripe’s secure infrastructure. No method of internet transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

This site is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted data through the site, write to us and we will delete it.
